Thought Of You 

We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. 
We thought about you yesterday, and the day before that, too. 
We think of you in silence, We often say your name,
But all we have is memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake, with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping, We have you in our heart. 
We shed tears for what might have been, a million times we've cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still,
In our heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.
It broke our heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.
